What icefire? I lost mine any moons ago. The one I got from you suffered from an all spike but still kicking. Lost all the green and is solid blue. Not sure if that's good or not lol....

I agree about the dance off though LMAO!!
 
What are you using for alk testing ? Did you hear about the issue with Hanna ? I was using a bad batch and was getting a 7.1 then tested with Red Sea and got 10.1
 
I was at the forefront of the Hanna issue lol. Was talking to them before the threads showed up. Everyone thought I was crazy:wildone:

I'm using Salifert exclusively. For a while was using both but my Hanna kept drifting halfway through the bottle on several different batches. Currently I'm struggling with low Alk. Just got back from a 4 day conference and my Alk was on the floor! It's funny I've cot some pieces growing like mad and a couple that are dying quick. Kinda sad since one of them is one of my favorites but at this point I'm trying not to stress it and it's all about survival of the fittest. Over the last month I've had to increase my dosing about 20% plus manual additions to keep it up. Seriously considering setting up a cal rx. But trying to figure out where.

Everyone thought I was crazy when I was having whacked out calcium and magnesium readings on my fresh batch of sea water I was making for water changes. No-one believed me and even got some arrogant back handed comments at some fmas meetings a couple years ago from reefers I had a decade more experience over, Telling me it was my test kit, or i dont know how to mix salt properly. It took me going to a couple friends houses, one of them was marc, to cross check testing kits to finally lay to rest that it was in fact a bad batch of reef crystals.

Yes I believe it's possible for some corals to just spontaneously go. It is strange. I've got a lot of pieces throwing up all kinds of nubs, a lot of pieces healing still but showing marked improvement and a couple that just called it quits. For example the blue tipped stag I got from Eddie threw out like 5 growth nubs in the time I was out of town and the winterfresh from him has a spot of RTN, NOT STN, but the remaining piece still looks amazing with excellent PE. Go figure! I'm done over stressing.

Was this recent ? I use reef crystals and I can't get my cal down from 500.

I'm thinking the same thing done with stressing. I do think 2 different test kits work better than one. When I can I try to double check with LFS but recently there test kits they use are a little iffy. So I guess buying another kit is the best bet.
