Rovster's Custom Reef Savvy build......FINALLY!!!

Thanks for the comments guys. Its always a work in progress. Hopefully some macro shots coming soon. Some corals are almost ready for the spotlight;)

You can deny how well that combo works. If it were up to me I'd have more T5 and less LED I think, although the LEDs work just fine. The T5 look is growing on me. Looks a little softer and more balanced. We'll see how things look with the addition of 2 more bulbs.

Never understood need to place Vortechs under Apex control. They have their own controller. I use reef crest.

I have two and don't care if in pair or not. It doesn't matter. All you want is random flow. Vortechs do that regardless of al the fancy stuff.

Your missing the point! With apex I can make things super random:wildone:

A few times a day I run nutrient transport, but I'm mainly on lagoon and reefcrest and I alternate sync and anti sync, it creates all kinds of chaotic flow.

Is it needed....no. On my smaller tank I always ran reefcrest which is fine, but I don't like the lulls in reefcrest so lately I like lagoon and tidal swell. Apex allows you to run multiple programs.

What bothers me with these things is the fact that sometimes we relay a wrong message to folks just getting started.

Random flow is extremely IMPORTANT, no doubt.

But what we cant do, and im not saying your doing this, is make things so complicated for starters that they feel this hobby is above their technical cabapilities.

Creating random flow is not very complicated. its actually very easy to achieve with regular powers heads and such.

Thats MY POINT!!

I hear you. You never saw my ghetto tank. Super simple, no controllers, no fancy equipment, lots of manual chores, and beautiful SPS. You can make this gone as simple as you want, or as complicated.
