Royal Gramma Not Eating

Had a royal gramma in QT for 4 weeks and it ate like a pig from day one. It has been in my display tank which is a 40 breeder with about 50 pounds of live rock for 3 days. When I feed the gramma it just looks at the food or spits it out now. Is it feeding on pods because it is the only fish in there right now or is there something wrong? My water parameters are all excellent.

Could you list them please? The parameters, we might see something you don't.
More than likely, he's just getting more comfortable. I wouldn't worry for at least a week or so.

Yeah everything looks fine. Either something in the tank is harassing him, or he's just getting comfortable. Gramma's can be very secretive.. Give it time.

No other fish in there just snails and hermit crabs. So I don't think anything is harassing it. Tank has been cycled for months and I continued to feed the corals everyday with mysis as if there were fish in there until the gramma came out of QT. Have alot of lps corals so plenty of food was going in. So it is the first fish in there could it be eating on the amphipods I have alot?

I agree with BigBlueTang, my gramma is very elusive except during the early evening when he comes out. My flame angel used to pick on him relentlessly, luckily I have a blue tang that is a referee and stops fish from picking on other fish.

I'm not sure what else you have in your tank, but I would also recommend using frozen cyclops/cyclopeeze. I have found they do not readily sink, and have so many in one cube, that shy fish get a chance to come out and start eating before the food is gone.

Haha, I stepped away from my comp and you must have replied in that time. Either way I might try a cyclops cube cut in a quarter or less.

And yes, he's probably eating some of your pods.
