RTBA V. Elegance

So, have had a bta for a few weeks, it's made it's move along a bowl shaped opening in the center of my tank, which has been nice because all my corals are glued to the outside edge of the bowl and nothing is near touching anything. Its been happy and hosted just days after being added. Not moved in a week ir so.

Yesterday I got a nice pink tipped elegance coral which I had the perfect spot for, it opened about 7" across by 4" wide (in the standard rectagon shape were used too) but while I was adjusting the 1.5" PVC standoff I cut for it, I kicked up some of my sand and slightly moved a small piece of rock, this caused my clowns hosting the bta to chase my hand and barrel dive back into the bta, I guess it got mad at the substrate that lightly sprinkled it and the dive bombing clowns cause it shrunk.

This morning I noticed it moved, can you guess where? Yeah, just cm away from the elegance coral, I suspect (am positive) that if each decided to be happy and open 100% they will touch. I'd mov the elegance, but that's th only spot for it (shape, etc). The BTA has tons of spaces and places to go, and I hope it does. My question is this, I know elegance is a strong, coral that can hold its own, and since the bta can move, will it once the touching takes place? I'm pretty sure a turkey blaster of water can agitate the bta enough to probably move it as well, just want to make sure the one that can move will vs. fight to the death?

While on This topic, is it true long tenticles are much less likely to make a monthly move?

I have plenty of flow (tunze 1073.05 return at 60%) and two mp10s apex controlled, and a radion up above. 50g cube display.

Man I would move that bta and dont waste time. That battle could be catastrophic.

My RBTA killed my hammer. Move it. The hammer was glued in place and I hoped that the nem would be far enough away. I was wrong.

BTA's dont all make a monthly move. I have 6 dont have stayed put since they were added, 4 of which have not moved in 5 months. I agree to move the BTA if it is easily moved, otherwise move the elegance until the BTA has moved than move the elegance back.

They will fight without touching through chemical warfare, something to keep in mind.

Yeah, considering we barely know what to do, to keep them from moving, any suggestions on what should be done to encourage them TO MOVE?

I've learned when spot feeding it, if I draw water from it (almost sucking tenticles ino baster tube) angers it the most. My rock in the area it's inhabiting has been plastered an epoxy'd, there is no moving the rock it's on as a easy fix. The elegance was on a slotted PVC pipe stub holding it in a perfect shape, in the perfect area, I've taken the tube stand out, giving another 2" of distance from the bta, along with moving its skeleton placing it in the substrate as far away from where the bta is, there is now about 10" from the bta and the elegance skeleton, they won't touch pending the bta doesn't make up the space by moving. I've already started thinking where else I could epoxy the 1.5" PVC pipe, using the pipe allows me to place the coral in areas I just don't think would have worked, but fingers crossed the bta moves back to the area of the tank originally sculpted for him. (yeh, right, I've learned ad am continuing to learn) y a torch or larger Duncan might make a better host, I've seen it done and it doesn't look too out of place? Ha a ha
