I got the second to last one at the place on auburn bl. (Aqualife?) 1st time I've ever been there, stopped in on a whim. That is about the only fish I have wanted in a long time. It is tiny, maybe half an inch. Hope my coris wrasse doesn't eat it thinking its a large pod!

That's Aquarium Depot, and those little guys are really cool fish!

Aqua life and aquarium depot both have had them lately. I want to get one next week if they still have them. Great prices compared to what they go for online.

I got a pair about a month ago when they first came into season. Female was small enough to repeatedly go into the overflow. She lived in the sump for about a week when I noticed her in the tank again (surviving the trip through the pump). :eek1: Fine ever since.

Sounds unreal, went through hell and back ;)

The were at Divers Dan's in Hayward for 80.00 EACH..... I guess he paid 8 each and it was a 1000% mark up! I love the fish and people at Aqua Live, great fish always healthy, We would buy them but, they wouldn't Survive the trip around my system, let alone the flow in the tank.

Nice score!

I seen the ones at aquarium depot the other day. I wanted one but passed on them because I was not too sure if I would be able to keep them alive.

For what I understand they are like mandarins and only eat live food? True or false?

Has anyone been successful in keeping them
Long term?

What do you feed them?

Generally true but they (ad) claim they are eating Frozen food. They said the same thing about the mandarin I bought there and he does. He stopped when my tank was overrun with pods but I have a lot less after the transfer and he eats Frozen mysis.

As always, ask them to feed the fish and see for yourself.

they are SO small about 1/2 inch.... i know my tank has enough pods for it, i figure i can work on training it in the meantime.
haven't seen it since i added it yesterday. my wrasse was checking it out- like hmmm, what is that?(not trying to get it, just looking at it...) and the ruby skittered under the rockwork. it is so small, it can get in every single liverock crevice there is. (great for hunting those pods) i've been looking, but no luck.

on a side not, i did see one of my sexy shrimp this am, so at least one is still alive. stoked on that...

My sexy shrimp get hard to spot sometimes but they tend to hang out under the hammers and frogspawn when not in an anemone.

Mine are tiny as well, but there in a 12 gallon long. So they're easy to spot. They're already out and about hunting and pecking on the live rock.
