Just curious who's keeping these guys. Lately I've been seeing them at the lfs and online. Even some post on Craigslist about people selling them.
Just curious if any of you guys are keeping them and if their taking frozen flake or pellet.

I've been thinking of getting one of these guys...I have no experience with them, but the new post on CL seems like a good price, especially if it's really healthy. Just emailed, we'll see...

I got one from Aquaexotic in Belmont in late December. She was very tiny at 3/4" and disappeared after two weeks. I do not know what happened. I should of isolated and monitored in my sump or tiny QT before putting in the display. I underestimated its care due to its size, and thought it would be fine like the training I did on mandarin for frozen and pellet food.

I hope my experience helps. Its a beautiful fish.

Mine was doing great, until he went carpet surfing. I even have a screen on the top of the tank. Apparantly they can jump fyi.

Me too. Mine was an awesome fish.. Doubled in size in a few months but ended up on my floor.. They are jumpers.. Mine only ate live food in the tank. I tried various foods and it wouldn't even consider it.. Def need a well established tank I'd say above 50g minimum imo.

Good price Jack, but for the other current prices I've been seeing for the size of the fishs' being sold , I'll wait till I see bigger specimens.

Have had mine about 2 months. He is doing very well. I purchased him from Aqualife in Rocklin (near Sacramento) for $24. About an inch. 65 gallon tank, 2.5 years old, at least 100 pounds LR.
