Here is the finished product with all the lights on. I ruined the black background that I got last night from fade32 but I got another today from work "Free" so here it is.

How did you ruin it? If you needed help I would have came over.
Looks good I like blue backgrounds better anyway.

I love my blue background on mine. It gives some color while waiting for the tank to have it's own. Something I've noticed though is that it seems slow to grow with coralline. I take water from mine to do my son's lion tank and it that tank has tons of coralline yet mine is very low in it. I'd blame it on the mh's vs. the pc's but I ran pc's on my tank for the first 6 months and it didn't grow then either. So the blue is the only thing I can come up with for a reason. Maybe the spectrum absorption or ?? The black stock tank I use for a sump has tons too as well as the 2 glass frag tanks that are connected to the same system. Rocks have no problem getting purple. But slower coralline may be a blessing in disguise. I also notice that I don't really get it on the clear acrylic viewing panes either but that gets the mag float daily so I "could" just be keeping it off from my superior husbandry skills. :D

this is what it will look like if you dont scrap coraline algea off

i think the slow coraline has to do with the lime powder addition... when i was doing that, most of my coraline either died, or stopped growing. yet my sps still gerw like weed.

not sure but that may be the reason

It still grows on the glass frag tanks and the sump black plastic though. And that is closer to where the lime addition occurs.

DrBDC - I think it's MH vs. PC. You might not have grown it during the first 6 months b/c your tank was still "breaking in." It doesn't do as well under super bright light.

When I had the 120, the coralline growth in the sump was insane, but it was "normal" in the tank where the MH were. When I moved the MH to The Tub, the coralline exploded in the 120.
