Run away anemone?

I obtained a bubble tip anemone, it has whiteish tentacles with a deep purple base. It seems to be roaming around the tank trying to keep itself away from the light. Also it almost seems like it is splitting in half? Is my anemone dying? I've never heard of a bubble tip trying to hide from the light! Any advice would be great!

First they will move around if they are unhappy or trying to find a new spot. But watch him closely, I had BTA wonder into my filter and I couldn't get it out without tearing it.

Second if it looks like it is splitting it may very well be possible that it is splitting.

Can you post a picture? Are you sure it's a bubble tip?

White tentacles on a BTA are a symptom of bleaching. I've had one get white tips when I upgraded my lighting once, but it eventually went away. The fact that yours is moving and splitting sounds like it is extremely stressed. What is your lighting, and how does it compare to the tank it came from?

Having said all that, they do roam around at first, and can hide from the light for awhile. I've had newly introduced BTAs hide in the rocks for a couple of weeks before they finally showed themselves.

BTAs split when they're happy and when they're extremely stressed.
