Well, the LTA that we've had for a little over a year started moving around about a month ago(after being settled in the same spot for a year). anyway, long story short, i came home yesterday to the wet side of my MP 40 laying on the sand bed. stuffed inside it is the LTA which is normally about 8-12 inches across. it's been chopped on pretty badly...

it there anything special i can do to help it survive? the clown was wondering around the tank lost untill i took the cage of the vortech and put my old koralia in the tank for water flow. the vortech is sitting on the sand bed, the nems foot is still attached so i just left it to move off the vortech on it's own. i would say about 1/3 of the tentecles are inflating, 1/3 aren't and 1/3 are chopped off. i'll try for some pics later, but it's mouth is open and sticking out a little. it still has all of it's color...

Any tips? i'm doing water changes one today(20%) how soon before another?

You should put the sponge on your VorTech. I'm pretty sure the MP40 comes with one.

People do water changes when the anemone is dead and they want to keep the wastes to a minimum. I would think a large water change would stress the injured anemone. I'd move the clown out or put a guard over the anemone. Healthy anemones are very good at recovering it you treat them well.

Good for you for not forcing it out of the cage. I'll bet it isn't as badly injured as you think and in time it will recover. In a healthy tank, it just needs time.
