Running streams vertically

Hi Roger,

I'm considering running a bank of 3-4 streams......6060-80's aimed vertically off the magnet holders. Do you see any issues with this? I know I'll have to keep them at a certain level to avoid sucking in air but other than that I don't see a problem.

I may have to modify the holder if it doesn't keep the pumps low enough. You know of anyone doing this?

Does the pump housing have to be totally submerged for cooling purposes?

I will run these only occasionally........as long as they are off for an hour or more I can do this without a controller, correct?

Thanks, Ed

They can be off for 1 minute, the on time has to be one hour. Provided they get submerged at least 3-4" it should work, the 6060 would be less likely to vortex. The mag holders will present a bit of an issue because the pumps don't lock in and they could slip out and fall, you will have to come up with a way to overcome this.

Okay, thanks for the quick resposne, I've got a few different ideas for mounting them.

They can be off for 1 minute, the on time has to be one hour.

If I'm reading this right I need to run them for at least an hour or more everytime they are shutdown from previously running.

They can be off for a minute or more of if I choose to, correct?
