Rusted plugins? What to do?

Well after well over a year and a tank crash, I decided to put my system back together. I noticed today one of the plug ins on my fixture that was in the power strip that got wet from my leaking tank had a little rust on it, so I put the end in vinegar and it took all the texture away, the metal is smooth again. But it still has a rusty color to it.

Is there anything I can do? Should I have it re-wired by an electrical shop? The fixture works, I'm just not sure it's safe.

I would just lightly sand off the rust. A green scrubby pad would work.

they also make some stuff ya can smear on the metal ends that will keep it from coroding any further. look at home depot or lowes for anti corosion on electrical stuff.
