rusting shaft on 6025

this is my 3rd set of 6025 nanostreams, after having the first 2 sets replaced.

this set seems to be doing well, and lasting longer than the others. but i was cleaning them yesterday and when i took the magnet/impeller assembly out i noticed an awful lot of rust in the well of the motor. when i turned it upside down it was probably about 1mL of dark brown rusty water.

i obviously can't see all the way down to the bottom of the shaft, but i imagine thats where it is coming from.

my last set rusted in the same area of the bottom of the shaft, and eventually broke the shaft due to the rust finding an imperfection in the shaft, and then eating its way to the inside of the shaft.

this set was definitely a different "batch" than my previous ones, as these came with those little washers at the base of the shaft. my previous ones didnt have those.

any suggestions? is this something i should be worried about and will eventually break?

btw, roger has the best customer service i've ever seen, i've promptly gotten back my new pumps very quickly. very impressed with his customer care!

With a pen light you should be able to see if there is rust, it is also possible that some decaying algae could create this brown water. Whether or not this is possible would depend on whether the shaft is German made or Chinese, we switched to German made shafts at about the time you got your replacement but both were in stock.
