Have you ever had a moment of clarity and you realize you are the biggest retard to ever walk the earth. I was doing some routine maintenance on the sump (changing filter sock and emptying skimmer cup) and suddenly I looked down and the light bulb in my head started to spark and turn on..... All this time I had 3 hose clamps submerged in the sump and they are now rusted!
All I can say is ***.... How could I have overlooked the simplest fact that metal hose clamps will rust and not even notice they rusted for a week or so now.
I am getting some big zip ties that will hopefully hold the hoses where they need to be until the plastic hose clamps come in. I ran to home depot but couldnt find any plastic ones.
Will these rusted hose clamps cause any problems with the tank
Its a custom 60 gallon with a 20 gallon sump / fuge.
Corals seem to be ok, havent noticed any of them not opening or showing deteration.
Just the ammount of rust on these 3 hose clamps worried me about it possibly leaching something out? Anything to be affraid of?
