Thanks. The clown are doing well, for now. I lost two female Clarkis about a month ago. These two were alway chasing each other. One day, the smaller one jumped out, the larger female was later killed, the same day by other anemonefish.
 
why would you think that? its oviously been doing fine up to this point.

i am interested if it has buried both its feet and how its lookthing tho :)

On a side note, saw the picture of the baby gigantea on your site, is that yours, or where did you see that? Very cool!
 
The baby Giganteas were from LFS. The green one was listed as green mushroom for $20 and the larger one was dark brown "LTA". When I told the owner they may be S.gigantea, though it was too small to tell(was less than two inches). He then, doubled the price and charged me $40/each:(
They both were in bad shap and stayed in my sump for several months. I finally added them to the main tank a few weeks ago.

You have a beautiful gigantea and best of lucks to you.
 
well at 20 that is a crazy price and 40 is still good
you guys in cali get all the good stuff
i would love to just find a gigantea at my lfs
 
not to get off topic but is are gigantea's rare? I just bought a H.gigantea for $75 From a LFS who listed it as a carpet. I love anemones and new it wasn't a carpet and it was something I hadn't seen so I had to have it. SO is it rare? was it a desent price? By the way its about 15-18 inches accross. huge!
 
Two feet IMO and observation are a result of interrupted split. I had a bubble tip that splitted several times , in one of the atempts it tried to split in three, only one was spun off and the piece remining ended up with two "feet" It was somehow funny to see one of the feet try to relocate and end up "walking around the other one and the anemone ended up like a twisted caramel. No damage done but note that although it had two feet it only kept one mouth. This lasted about six months until it decided to split again then it separated.
I'm glad you decided not to frag, I think it has a better chance of survival this way.

I would love to see a picture of your carpet anemone.
 
Not a carpet it was sold as a carpet but I beleive its a gigantea.
The pic doesn't do it justice.

Yes, you do have S. Gigantea. Has the tentacles gotten more dense, thicker? It looks a little stressed on that picture.
 
yes their actually getting a bit longer. that pic was the day after i got it which was a week ago. My friend actually bought it for his couple week old 125 with little light and just a return for flow. it got a little stressed I picked it up from him the same day. It looked so good in my tank i bought it off him and told him a LTA was more his speed with only pc's and low flow.

Sorry, I didn't see your post earlier.

My first impression was same as yours, may be the two feet were the result of an injury. The tissues between the two feet is now having a small opening, both feet are on seperate objects, and they moving on opposite directions.
Only time would tell. The origional owner stated that it only had one foot when he first got it a year or so ago.
