Sorry, I didn't see your post earlier.

My first impression was same as yours, may be the two feet were the result of an injury. The tissues between the two feet is now having a small opening, both feet are on seperate objects, and they moving on opposite directions.
Only time would tell. The origional owner stated that it only had one foot when he first got it a year or so ago.

If healthy sooner or later it will complete splitting, in my case it took several months but is cool!

Enjoy!

I think you already suspect this, but once that anemone is acclimated and settled in it's likely to split if you take good care of it. Feed it well :)

Ok I was going to start my own thread but will just post here since my question is almost the same as yours, well I bought a haddoni about 2 weeks ago it was about 6-9 inch. in diameter well after about a week I see it shrinking to expell some waste and I notice there are 2 mouths expelling waste I am not sure if it split or just grew another one, the little one is about 2 inch. in diameter and growing off of the larger ones foot on the side. Is this common or not I will try to get a pic in the next couple of days but it is hard to get a pic of the little one since it is growing on the side.

You got three baby carpets from a mother carpet. Was it Haddoni carpets? How are the little guys. In one of the picture the Female Maroon has a baby carpet in her mouth. Was that the end of him or he did well?

well at 20 that is a crazy price and 40 is still good
you guys in cali get all the good stuff
i would love to just find a gigantea at my lfs

I agreed with you on that ; it is still an excellent price (even better if they live). For the past year, they have not done much growth.

but you have kept them for a year so i would say BRAVO now what happened to all those baby carpets that the maroon was mouth brooding. lol

No, I only have a few duifferent of species os "carpet anemone". Some new red ones and not sure if they are Haddoni or not; they looked like "Hadonmertgantea" to me:)

Two year ago, I got two red one from Serdar that lived for almost two weeks. The larger one, before it died, it gave live birth to three live babies. These babies had mouth at birth! I have been obsess with getting red one to breed ever since.

I also had a green Haddoni gave out several baby while it was being acclimate to my tank.

I have not been successful rearing these babies thus far.

I am very sad about the death of this beautiful anemone.

Here are some pics of it before and after death.
