Saddle = Haddoni

I saw a green carpet at the LFS and I asked what type it was and they said saddle so I didn't get it because I didn't know they were the same. It was about 3-4 inches in diameter for $45

It's a common name that I don't hear used too often any more.

Unless you go to a really good LFS, don't expect them to know too much about the anemones they are selling. I was at a store this weekend and they had three different carpets in the same tank (haddoni, gigantea, mertensii) and they were selling them all for the same price. I was talking to one of the employees and pointed out how two of the giganteas were female and she looked at me like I was from a different planet :)

Sounds like one of my LFSs. Went in the other day and started asking about their nems. SHe didnt realize they were different... she just thought the color was different. If I had somewhere to put it, I would have bought the 8" gig for $60

What would be better a Haddoni / saddle or a gig?

Im no expert, but from what I read it all depends on your tank. Low to Mid flow and T5 lights, a Haddoni, High Flow strong lighting a gig.

I have also read Haddoni are much easier which is why I started with one myself. He isnt doing great.

How did you determine that two of the giganteas were female?:confused:

Do any of you know a website where I can get them because my LFS never has them and when they get one it doesn't have a good color. I have looked every where but no luck
