Saddleback Tank Decisions...

I have been thinking about this for a while and after much internal debate; decided to rely on the expert opinions here.

Short story is I have a pair of black saddlebacks in my tank. I've been caring for them for over a year and have grown quite fond of them. They are starting to show signs of pairing/breeding behavior, and I want the best environment possible for them.

When they were in my 90 I had two carpets and they absolutely loved them (is that possible?! :)). I definitely have the equipment necessary and feel like I have the knowledge required to successfully keep a haddoni.

However, as can be expected; my clown pair was pretty rough on the carpets. They would constantly bury themselves within the anemones and occasionally would enter the mouths.

Here's the question: knowing the somewhat aggressive behavior with the carpets, should I steer clear this time around?

Thanks

I think as long as the carpet is big enough to host the clowns you will be fine. After all the Haddoni is the natural host for saddle back clowns!

This is very true. Thanks for the encouragement!

From your signature it looks like you have quite the 'nem collection! Do you still have the red in your avatar?

It would help also if you could move the saddle backs to a temp tank while the haddoni settles in before it gets "loved" by them
