sadness...

No offense man, but seriously, starting a new thread for every little detail that goes on in, on, and around your tank is rather exasperating and perhaps even borderlining on plain ol' weird.

Have you considered maybe starting an online tank journal in which you can post everything that you consider being worthwhile? Heck, go crazy with it. Keep records of everything, from the mating habits of your copepods to the exact gram amounts of Formula 1 you've feed in the last two weeks. Do simple linear regression on it. Create charts, diagrams, optical illusions, anything - it's your journal. We'll call it the journal of Super Energy.

BTW, Sorry to hear about your firefish.

Wow! Someone is sure crabby here. I've gone through the last 3 months of the posts by this user and none seem out of line. Perhaps he's excited or very passionate about this hobby??Maybe it's just bothering you for some reason..if that's the case then why don't you not open the thread when you see his name?

You know that sounds kinda creepy?

Anyways I think what ProjectReef is trying to say is that he could have just updated his old thread about the same topic http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=950952
instead of creating a new thread for it.
And I have seen many reefers create and update their tank thread or web page, it is actually a neat way to see and follow the changes going on the tank.

BTW sad thing your firefish didn't make it. They are one of my favorite fish, too bad you were not willing to take him out of the tank.

Just my .02

lol i agree do you know how many fish and corals i have lost over the passed year? lol lots but i never post and tell everyone about it... a log. journal would be nice to keep for your own personal records...

Man, I've lost 1 (*one*), and was depressed about losing that many. I don't know that I'd stay in the hobby if I lost them on a regular basis.

OH boy, I see a downward spiral which is where most of these threads go. Perhaps he gets a little excited but some prefer to watch soap operas. You want to see scary bennyinca? :D

when you have 400 gallons of water and 40 fish you will lose some.. i look at this as a HOBBY fish and coral are not friends or pets. Some people take the loss of a fish personal.. it not like the fish gave me love or affection, he just wanted to be feed and have a clean home... now when i lose a cat or dog thats different.. lo but i still dont post about it if that happens...

not getting on supernag but i just have to agree with Project reef on this one.. 3am posts saying "please delete" are not uncommon for him to post.

Judgement from WI in a SoCal forum

I think that I simple PM to supernareg would have been enough to let him know what we think about his threads, instead of judging him in public. We all have our own opinions.
Supernareg sorry about your fish. JMHO.

boy, gabriel, i can't disagree with you enough but will save my thoughts until the next club meeting. i would remind you that these "hobby" animals are taken from the wild and as such deserve as much care and consideration in their keeping as any other creature you take into your home. if he had 5 or 10 cats or dogs die in his care would you be so forgiving? would you give him another animal from your home and say, "good luck with this one, kid"?

hahaha, the socal forum is freaking hilarious!

Sorry about your fish man. Don't worry, i've lost a good amount and it's still sad.

i can not say that i agree with you. Fish are not as hardy as my 4 legged pets. Should 1 thing go wrong with my tank i may lose everything, so i test every week.. who test their cats, dogs or even birds every week?. I have done everything in my power to keep my fish and coral alive. If you have seen my set up you have seen that i have spared no money getting the best that money can buy to give my fish a great home.

I had a very nice and expensive fish die on me earlier this year and it tore my guts up.. i was calling my fellow reefers asking what to do to save the fish and they told me the same thing "you can not save every fish".. and that is true. Since that point i have looked at reef keeping as a hobby and not "pet" Supernag has lost lots of fish but i believe it is a common story told by us all especially the "newbies". Sometimes lack of experience and failure to " do everything that you can" attitude is at fault. A common story told by to many new reefkeepers is to post about a problem that they are having when the solution is simple ( water conditions ) or the problem could have been avoided from the begining by doing some resarch.

Do i feel sad for the fish? sure... i may even get mad:mad2: over a fish that i have should it die.. but i wont cry over it as i know its not my fault; and lord knows i wont start a thread about it..

again.. JMO:o
