actually, yes. if you're so inclined it can and has been done.

lol are you gonna do it? if so how can we make an appointment?;) :D

fish and coral dying are part of the HOBBIE... when i first set up my 300 i bought some blue/green chromis that were tiny.. one got lost in the overflow and i found him the next day in the sump.. God rest his soul...:(

Just because it has been done, doesnt mean it should be done.

How many fish have died on me...
lots... mostly my mistakes... some on thier own.. some jumped out, some got eaten ( lionfish ), some were killed ( triggerfish did it ), 3 died from a ph spike.. ( my fault ), some shouldnt be sold for they will die ( hard to keep individuals )..

I have about 10-11 fish right now, all super happy and fat...

I don't go to the LFS without my fish guidebook, and never buy a fish wo research on my existing inhabitants.

Sometimes your new fish just wont Get Along with all your other guys...

All sorts of fun in this hobby.

there are veterinarians for nearly every creature. i've utilized two aquatic vets in the past and will continue to do so if i feel it is appropriate. just me though :) laugh away but if i need to take additional measures in order to save a fish, i will.

Darth Vader has a less complex life-support system than most of our fish and corals! Not surprising or uncommon when they die, though still unfortunate (in proportion to how much you paid for it, and how long you've had it).

But you know what they say when your clownfish dies... it's not so funny anymore!

yea, I think I'll call an aquatic vet to perfom surgery on my $20 fish underwater to remove a tumor that is probably fatal anyway.

Not too mention sedating him somehow, and hoping he wakes up after the surgery, and then calling the aquatic vet back to remove the stitches..

Also known as a sturgeon surgeon:lol:  ...I crack myself up!

What kills me about most of your thread and a LOT of others thread started here...With the exception of a few, a VERY FEW, this forum is made up of a bunch of newbies who repeat stuff they read. Why would anybody who really cares about their tank ask a question here and ignore the other forums. If you have a general question then go to the Reef Forum. Equipment question, go to the equipment forum. SPS question.....yeppers, go to the sps forum.

No offense man, but seriously, starting a new thread for every little detail that goes on in, on, and around your tank is rather exasperating and perhaps even borderlining on plain ol' weird.

Have you considered maybe starting an online tank journal in which you can post everything that you consider being worthwhile? Heck, go crazy with it. Keep records of everything, from the mating habits of your copepods to the exact gram amounts of Formula 1 you've feed in the last two weeks. Do simple linear regression on it. Create charts, diagrams, optical illusions, anything - it's your journal. We'll call it the journal of Super Energy.

BTW, Sorry to hear about your firefish.

OMG ProjectReef you crack me up :) I needed the laugh :)

i expected more from a RC moderator. very uncool to publicly criticize this guys thread. as u mods always say, take it to PMs.

The only person you should expect more out of is yourself. Sorry, but, some people need to be criticized in public.

project reef, starting many threads doesnt call for criticizm, specially publically. if you dont like it, simply move on... its the internet, 1 click ur done. plain and simple.

This is a weird thread. And I live part time inTemecula. I think posting every little thought as a new subject is confusing as hell. Its like im reading an excerpt from a story i have no idea what its about.
Starting and posting a journal makes more sense and the people who are interesting in what you are doing can easily find you and see updates on your aquarium. Plus the people who are NOT interested wont flame you or have to read it.

So in the future for people posting incidents that happened in your system, tell the whole story because most won't know what you are talking about..
good luck bpatrol

 quality response

you should add in ur quote: IT TAKES A BIGGER MAN TO ADMIT WHEN YOU ARE WRONG.

i agree that supernareg starts way too many lack of substance threads; which i always ignore. however this is an open forum and anyone can post any reef related subject. just look at it as supernareg being overly enthusiastic about this hobby or he needs attention or something. what i'm saying is that you should have sent him a PM and suggested the the items you mentioned on your initial post on this thread. instead, you posted a public criticizm kinda mocking (possibly un-intended) the guy.

Gabriel, I have zero problem with him actually starting new threads if they actually have substance to them, as phatphisher mentioned.

It gets kind of ridiculous when most of the new threads that are started are actually responses and continuations of his other threads. One topic, one thread, it's a simple policy to abide by.

Otherwise, start a tank journal log and feel free go nuts.
