Sailfin tang - Something is not right.

I got my Sailfin tang 2 days ago he looked fine in my LFS however now it looks as though he just isn't swimming right. He has been eating fine on Spectrum and Nori.

He doesn't swim upside down but he sort of falls on his side and swims a little it's like he isn't even trying to swim just moving with the current. He hasn't been hanging around the bottom of the tank only at night.

Currently have him in a 105g but will be upsizing to a 200g+ shortly. I will soak his food in garlic tonight and see how I get on.. Anyone else have experience with this sort of thing?

Whenever I clean the glass with my magnetic cleaner he swims fine or put food in the tank.

he looks like he is finding a place to hide and trying to set up a territory for safety. Chromis and hippo tang are showing a little aggression also.

Ah this is good to hear, sometimes he will swim on his side a little, when he goes into his cave he has his head facing sand. I noticed ammonia at 1.025 water changes today

What:eek:??
Not sure what this reading means ,but you should have 0 ammonia regardless

Yeah I let it sit for a while and that was the reading initially it looked 0 but changed. A few days of water changes should solve the problem but I still feel there is something wrong with the sailfin I drove 3 hours to my LFS can't have him die on me ;(

WCs are not miracle workers. (Neither are garlic or vitamins mentioned in your first post.) If you have ANY ammonia, your tank isn't ready for new fish. (Really, its not ready for any fish.) How long has your tank been set up? I have a gut feeling you're moving too fast.

Ammonia is back to 0, tank has been set up for 7 months. I was very certain to not move fast I didn't add anything but LR to the tank in over a month and have been slowly stocking fish and coral
