i lost the direction, actually my girlfriend threw them away anyways if any one knows the amount of drops and powder reagent to mix it would be greatly appreciated!! thank you

sorry, but you're better off without the directions, since that kit needs levels as high as your septic tank to measure. imo

I think that was pretty bad advice IMO. :( Opinions are like...... well, nevermind.

10 ml water, 4 drops reagent 1, 1 scoop powder.

Mine still detects below .03 ppm.

I'm not sure what mystery is talking about.

:)

My test kit always reads zero....tell that to my hair algae?

add 10ml of water
add 4 drops of P04 (mix 10 sec)
add one scope P04-2 (mix 30 sec)
Place on white part of test, match the color

billybeau, how would you rate the salifert phosphate test in accuracy?

I think its pretty doggone accurate. I had some situations where I ran this new GFO for awhile and the test water was completely clear. As it exhausted, I started seeing a hint of blue. Sometimes darker than .03 and sometimes lighter.

As with all test kits, one should guard against contamination buy tightly capping the reagents after use and keeping the test vial clean.

I've used the Salifert and the Hach side by side, and they both seemed to return about the same result. The Hach is easier to pin to a number, because of the color wheel.
