Salinity Acclimation

I believe my h. Mag order from LA will be coming this week after a delay. My concern is that my QT salinity is at 1.024 with 6 coral frags in there, and the shipment water is expected to be 1.021. Will drip acclimating bridge this salinity gap safely, or do I need to consider a 3rd tank to acclimate the anemone and raise the salinity slower? I appreciate any advice and guidance.

I drip acclimated my mag. I used a refractormeter to make sure salinity in the acclimation bucket matched to tank water. It should be a fairly easy process. I once got a fish that came in SG 1.017. I had to raise it by a few points than remove drip water from the bucket, raise it again by a couple points and repeat the process till it reached 1.025. But in your case the difference is not substantial and 50-70 mins of drip acclimation may be sufficient.

Thank you. I'll proceed with the drip acclimation, and check salinity frequently. Any other pitfalls I should look out for during acclimation?

I would turn off the flow completely and put the anemone in a desired location. Normally Mags like to be up higher on the rocks, in almost all cases under direct light.
