My water seems to be running a little high. 1.027/1.028. Does this mean it is too salty and I need to add some fresh water or the other way around?

Little on the high side, go ahead and add ro/di water until the salinity is 1.025.

Reverse osmosis, followed by deionization. It's a type of water purification.

Some people also use distilled water from the grocery store.

1.026-1.027=35ppt=the salinity of natural seawater. Your range is just fine.

I would first make sure you use an accurate instrument to measure salinity.

i agree check with a accurate measuring divice first like a refractometer and go from there. if it is still to high take a few cups of water out of your tank and replace with plain rodi water. drop it slowly over a few days.

i just got a refractometer yesterday. what i thought was 1.025 was really 1.022. my friends swing arm hydrometer was off too.

i keep mine at 1.025 ....1.026 max
