So i have had my tank up for about three months. I have had it b4 but with the move i took it down. it was up for about a year b4. now i know salt creep is a common thing in the saltwater world but since i had it up i have never had this problem. around the seams of the tank top and bottom i have salt creep! i can wipe it clean and in a few hours there it is again starting to form. does it form that fast? is the area around the tank to warm? are the seams of the tank LEAKING!?!?!? should i be worried about some thing? i understand salt creep comes with the territory but it seems to be forming way to fast! maybe my tank is too warm?
please help! --dom--

if i do at water change and i do spill i make sure to clean it up when i am done. so i am sure that it is not that. --dom-

yeah i just want to make sure there is'nt a leak somewhere! and when i check it there is'nt any trails from where it came from other then the around where the glass meets the black frame. i think one of my main concerns is that is develops with in two hours that i had just wiped it clean. --dom--

Check any plumping going over the side and filters and such that could be leaking slowly.

Microbubbles and splashing will lead to salt creep! Salt creep shouldn't be enabled to get back into your tank as it is polluted through the air contaminants and impurities.
Just try to move things around to help deminish the salt creep fro getting to ahead of itself.

dude i'm sorry to say but you are probally leaking provided you checked all your attachments(pumps filters ect..). depending on the size you can probally fix it yourself but unfortunatly you'll need to drain the tank, which is probally how it happened if a leak is your problem. when you leave a tank dry for an extended period of time you risk drying out the silicone seals or damaging them. the older the tank the less time you want to leave it dry but use 100% silicone rubber and you can fix it yourself. good luck!

yeah i think that i what i have to do! thank you all for your thoughts and ideas on the subject i really am thankful for it! --dom--
