I keep hearing that Instant Ocean/ Reef Crystals produced some bad batches of salt--that sucks because I have a full pail I recently bought from DrsF&S--anyone know any current info on this problem?

Instant Ocean is fine.

Reef Crystals seems to have manufactured some buckets low in calcium and magnesium unlike the normal RC formula.

They are aware of the problem and I expect to be straightened out quickly.

This only affected the buckets from my testing. The bags are fine.

I've just about used them all this one has given me the best results and i will never go back.. ever... Marine Enterprises Crystal Sea Bioassay Laboratory Formula

i mix it 2 min later i add it stable as a mo--fo, ph-8.2 cal-400 alk-equal. what do you pay evil?
what did I pay for the RC? If that's what your asking, I paid $31 plus shipping for the salt-so around $40-$45 total. It was a killer deal, and I was going with the "tried and true" salt everyone raves about, now that I buy it, theres a problem with it.....story of my life.:rolleye1:

I wouldn't write it off just yet. Everyone has a bad day once in awhile. Give them a chance to correct the problem.

Do you really want to switch to a salt mix that only 1.27 % of consumers use ?

I think you've made your point repeatedly in this thread. We get it. You love it. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to go stir some of my RO/DI and Kent Sea Salt now. ;)
