just wondering i have a digital ph monitor, im trying to raise my ph. it says my tank is 7.6ph im doing a coule water changes i got 2 five gallons of ro water add ph buffer i put a teaspoon and a half in each bucket ph read 10 ok i added the salt 4 a 1.025 sal and the ph dropped slowly 9 8 7.4 shouldnt my new salt water mix be 8.3 or something close ,also i used my last test strip on my tank same time i tested it with phm same 7.6 or so o i use instant ocean reef crystals

Test the pH of the water from your water source. If you are maiking your own water test the tap water. You may be able to fix the probelm in your holding tank before it gets to your fish tank. Also check around, there may a salt out there that has a higher pH. You may have to switch salt.
 
Well, as mentioned above, low pH after aeration has nothing to do with the salt mix. The pH of aerated seawater only depends on the alkalinity (none are too low, so that is not the cause of the low pH) and the CO2 level in your home. So CO2 in the home air is the problem:

the ph of your freshly mixed sw is 10? humm all the salts i have ever tried to test tested at 8.3, but i have not tested nsw in years,maybe its higher now?
