Which salt you guys using? Currently i am on Red Sea Coral Pro. It's good but thought about switching to one with 8 dkh. Red Sea mixes to about 9.5.
Any personal favorites or it's just cheaper-better?
Anyone using Liveaquaria salt? Thoughts? Thx
 
I used IO for years and had no complaints except you had to test every bucket as they all mixed up differently and all over the map and pre dose accordingly , I switched to aquaforest sea salt and haven't noticed any difference and the parameters are bang on to what the paper test inside says.
its about the same price. its $5 a bucket more and makes a bit more saltwater.
I havent tried the reef salt or probiotic reef salt. I was very happy with the color and growth of my SPS with the significantly cheaper salt. when I get my new tank stocked up I may try them for a few buckets just to see but for now ill stick with the aquaforest sea salt
 
IO or IORC for me for as long as I've been keeping a tank, now going on 30 years. Although I have used a bucket of pretty much every brand out there once or twice. I never really noticed any difference. Not only is it hard to beat the price, I figure that if it's good enough for many major aquariums to use then it's good enough for me.

And that's part of the reason I choose IO over RC. The alk is a bit high, plus there are more trace elements in IO than RC.
 
RC for me. I've never really bothered to test the parameters though. I try to keep my Alkalinity around 9, my Calcium between 420-450 & the Magnesium between 1280-1320. Unless the parameters of this make up water are way off base a 10% water change isn't really going to sway anything one way or the other.

I've had bags test all over the place. Alk 5.4, cal 320, alk 11, cal 500. I always mix a new bag real good and test the first batch a new water made.
 
I only use RED SEA PRO as I like that it mixes up high in the ranges.
It supports my moderate stony coral load with a weekly 15% water change and no dosing.
Now two years using RSP, corals look great, a bit expensive but saves on the two-part.
