i had a snail crawl up to the top of my tank where there is alot of saltcreep and i found the snail dead. i know you can kill a land slug with salt and i would assume the same would be true for the snail would i be correct?

Not likely Jewels. Snails move out of the water and are exposed to high salt levels all the time. If it bothers them they retreat back into the water. Yours probably met his time so RIP.
