Saltinity?

How can saltinity just change? I tested my salt level with a refractometer 3 days ago and read 1.024 now it reads 1.022. Possible water leak? Im confused

More water in your sump? Not the same water level. Skimming wet?

there is some water in my skimmer. Maybe I need to turn it down. Where should the water be? shouldnt the bubbles be just before the cup?

Sounds like ur skimming wet. Perhaps dial down the skimmer to pull more foam then liquid. Should get a nice dark skim

Its a 40 breeder with a 20 gallon long sump. I mean its not dark or clear, yellowish. I guess ill turn down skimmer a bit

If you need to bring salinity up. Use saltwater for top off water at 1.025 or whatever u were at until levels are accurate then switch back to regular ro.

A few cups of wet skim should no affect 60 gal that much IMO.

I agree, but idk what else would be pulling salinity out. Unless your water changes aren't mixing long enough before adding salt water back to tank.

The other possibility is a testing error. Maybe the refrac wasn't calibrated right.
