Nope. It does seem pretty standard from the responses here. I sometimes just want to know something rather than just keep wondering.

reef crystals in a bucket for more than 2 days will precipitate some stuff out. I believe it's ALK or something similar.

run your pump in the bucket with anything else with RO/DI + vinegar solution. it'll clean it all up =)

Without doing an assay test on the residue it's just guessing. If it dissolves with vinegar, I suspect it's calcium.

The folks in the Reef Chemistry forum would probably be able to give you a better answer.
