A wet/dry works very well for a fish only tank but if you are wanting to set up a reef then it may not be the best choice. You can certainly use it on a reef but it is not ideal.

Your overflow will dictate the size pump you need. Is it a built I overflow or one of the Esgopps hang on overflows, if so, which one?

If the tank is not reef ready then you will need the overflow box, the pump you will need will depend on which overflow box you get. That wet/dry is as good as any.

I saw on the web. that I need Mag Drive 12....1200 GPH

And I saw on Ebay the

Water Blaster Pump, Model HY-5000... 1300 GPH... 60 Watts

The Mag is about 110 watts or almost double the wattage of the Water Blaster so the Water Blaster will impart less heat to the water. Also the Mag will need 1-1/2" plumbing to get the max flow from it.

Ever thought of using the wet/dry with a bio pellet reactor to offset the "nitrate factory" affect?

That would probably work pretty well though I would skip the wet/dry completely.

I think to buy the Eshopps Wet/Dry 125-150 gallons

What I need to put inside the Wet/Dry... Carbon ?
Which is the best brand carbon ? How many pounds I have to add ?
Only carbon or other product ?
I think to decoration with Artificial coral, dried rocks.

So many different options for media. You would be better off searching a little on each and see how others are doing it.

Plus if you have not invested in the wet dry why not run a sump?

The wet/dry should come with the media (bio balls) that goes in it, as well as instructions. The amount if carbon you add will depend on the amount of water you will have, the package will have the recommended amount in the directions. If you have not had the chance, take a few hours and read all of the stickies at the top of the new to the hobby section. It will help you greatly in understanding the basics.

Much better in a reef situation.

Ive never kept a fowrl tank so you would be better off asking someone with more knowledge.

A quick skim of that section should answer most question as you can see first hand what others are running.

Jack had great advice to start with the stickes. You need to get a feel for the equipment with a general understanding what is going on. I would take a few and just read till you are tired. Then come back and fire away with some more questions. :fun4:

With fish only either will be fine. I would not do a wet/dry personally and employ a sump with macro algae. Google the Berlin Mtehod to get a better idea of how to do it. One benefit of the wet/dry is taking the place of live rock, at least until your dry rock is colonized with the appropriate bacteria. Plan on spending a lot of time reading as this will help get an understanding of the basic processes that happen in the tank.
