sand and crushed coral for diy foam rock?

what kind of sand and crushed coral is being used and where to get it? thanks for the help!

You can use and reef safe sand & crushed coral.I used some reef sand that I purchased while on sale at petsmart & crushed oyster shells from a feed store.The crushed oyster shell is about $3 for 25lbs.

My lfs has sand of different sizes for sale in bulk. I'm sure they just dump bags of aragonite and such into buckets and sell it for more per pound. I only needed a few pounds so it worked out well. I would say that any sand would work. I spinkled on small grain and then a few larger grains.

thanks for the help, its kinda funny were I live there really isnt a lfs so its hard to get stuff.

Buy a 5 lb. bag of dry aragonite sand on line.

I took a hammer to the left over rocks to make a crushed coral and sand mix.
