sand and tapwater

I had some problems with my build and had to take it down a day after setting it up and i had put about 15 pounds of non live sand in a bucket and decided to rinse it a few times and just left it in the garage sitting without draining the tapwater from the bucket...my mistake.

my question is,should i toss that sand now since its been almost a week that its been soaking in tap water?
or is it still safe to reuse it? maybe a ro/di rinse or soak?

i would just rinse it well a few times with RODI and use it.

i rinsed all the sand for my new tank with hose water, then at the end did a final rinse with about 10 - 15 gallons of RODI.

Yeah, I'm with Mondo, I'd just rinse it again... but I am a bad reefer and have never finished up with an RODI rinse. I just make sure it's drained really well.

thanks for the input guys, I have since rinsed the sand about 8 times with ro/di and put it in the tank!

Ha, that was at lease 7 times too many! I'm with Coelli, I flushed it well with the hose, drained it well and let it sit damp for a couple of days and then used it.
