what keeps the sand in best condition? i've been following the water change thread, so flow seems to help--keep the junk off the bottom, let it get skimmed and removed.

for stuff that does hit, or grows there, what cleans the sand the best? what are the top three sand cleaners (in order please!)?

thanks!

As I mentioned in the other thread, I like Nassarius vibex and a fighting conch for sand bed maintenance. Nassarius snails are carrion eaters and they consume leftover food on the sand bed. A fighting conch is known to eat cyano for you. They also graze on algae on sand particles. I believe amphipods does a fair amount of cleaning, too, but mainly at night. I see bristleworms coming out onto the sand bed to get at left over food, too. Other polychaetes are good, too, if you can get them.
