Sand???

Okay, I have one last question for all of the play-sand-is-not-bad people out there:
I was looking at play sand today and the bag of white sand had a warning on it that says "Do Not Use in Aquariums". My question is this:
Should I heed their warnings, or not?

What was the brand? Did it have alot of metalic looking particles in it. When I shop for playsand I look for sand that doesn't have black specks in it. Pool Filter sand is also good to use. It actually has slightly bigger grain to it. Its about 5.00 for the 50 pound bag. Pavestone Pulverized limestone has also been mentioned as safe to use.

Most play sands have "not safe for aquariums" tattooed on the bag somewhere. The quickcrete I used once before had that on it as well. I saw no ill effects. Its up to you.

The brand is Durascape. The warning reads: "Do not use for Hardscape projects, aquariums or traction". Why would they put metal in play sand?

It's extra fine, ideal for sandboxes, and there is a little warning in the corner that looks similar to the surgeon generals warning, saying that the sand contains crystalline silica which, if inhaled, may be carcinagenic...
So it sounds like the reason for that warning is the silica and not metals.
