Question my tank is almost 5 months old, can I add more sand to it?

That's fine, but just do small amounts at a time. You don't want to bury the micro fauna right off the bat. Maybe add a 1/4," wait a week & then add another 1/4" etc etc.

get tubbing and slide the sand threw the tubbing to the spot u want it.

Not at all, but make sure to rinse the sand first so you won't be introducing a whole lot of dust.
