Sanitation

I am unclear on the sanitation procedures taken when culturing phytoplankton. I plan on using algae discs and two liter bottles. My questions is, how does everyone go about sanitizing their two liters and the water they put in them?
Also do you sanitize the airline tubing? I have read many clown fish breeding threads and it always seems like this important step is skipped over.
Thanks, Michael

Most of us breeders use different type of phyto. I don't know many who make their own greenwater due to the problem. Of crashes and if you get 1 rotifer in it it will wipe out your culture.
Most of the breeders I know use products from reeds mariculture. I personally use their nanno 3600. Comes in 1L bottle and I divide it up into smaller 6oz water bottles and freeze them.

That may be what I end up doing, being this is my second attempt at phyto. I would really like to succeed this time. Any one out there mind sharing their sanitation techniques?

First off set everything up in an area with no other fish or culture tanks. I always bleached everything & let it air dry. I purchase algae from Reed due to the time it takes to grow algae & the space needed.

Thanks reef stew. I know it sounds silly, but would you mind explaining your procedure step by step. Just imagine I am a small child with a monkey/leash backpack.

I have not grown algae in over 5 years & it was frustrating. That is 1 of the reasons I purchase it from Reed.
