I have had this guy for a while- 6mo-1 yr. I was wondering how anyone can tell the difference between a carribbean red tail and a regular sargassum trigger, besides knowing and being able to prove where they were caught.
Thanks in advance.

that's exactly what I thought. So maybe you can explain to me why they are twice as much on divers den for the carribbean red tails..???

Well you get a great guarantee with LA/DD, and they tend to have much healthier fish.

Even at LFS's, Sarg/Red Tail prices fluctuate greatly. They are anywhere from $50-120.

Demand. Sign up for the email alert for Divers Den. Usually update between 6pm-8pm. Watch how fast Sargassum's sell (usually within the hour).

I forgot to post the pic of mine. Here he/she is. A couple of people think she is a red tail by the fact he may have come from more local waters. Not sure and I guess there is no real way to prove. I am not interested in the money or the value, more or less just interested if there was actually a difference. I absolutely love her though. Great trigger with a real bold personality. thanks again

Hello If you like Sargassums, check this fish out. A hybrid. Picture is from Austinaquafarms. Great looking sargassum by the way. Looks super healthy. Tim

Aurora is right. It isn't a Sargassum at all. As Sargassums don't live where crosshatches live, and the fish I showed definately has some crosshatch in her. It is either a crosshatch between female and male coloration or more likely a hybrid of a crosshatch and blue throat. Sorry for the error but hey I'm human. Regards, Tim

Also Tangers. What type of dog is that in your avatar? It's a real beauty. Has the same body structure as my boy. Sorry to be off topic but do you have some pics of that pup? Here are a couple of pics of my guy an American Bulldog. Regards, Tim
