Just kidding, sort of.
Next saturday (14th) please join us for an entertaining game of "steal from your neighbor", also known as a "white elephant" game. For those that aren't familiar, please read the guidelines at the end of this message. We will be meeting at Hope Church again, and we HOPE you will join us for this fun game.
Hope Congregational Church is located at:
4200 Brown Rd.
St. Louis, MO 63134
Below are the guidelines for the January meetings "steal from your neighbor"/white elephant game:
White Elephant Party Guidelines
1. Each member/guest that wishes to participate must contribute a gift. The gifts should be corals/frags.
2. Each participant must draw a number to determine the selection order.
3. On the first turn, the person holding the number selected will choose a gift, open it and display it to the crowd.
4. On the second turn the person holding the next selected number has the option to "œsteal" the gift that the first person has in their possession or select an unwrapped gift.
5. On the third turn the person holding the next selected number has the option to "œsteal" the gift from the first person, "œsteal" from the second person or select an unwrapped gift.
6. The party will continue in this fashion based on the following:
a. If a gift is "œstolen" from you, you can steal a gift from someone else or open a wrapped one.
b. The turn proceeds until an unwrapped gift is chosen.
c. A gift cannot be "œstolen" back from the person that immediately "œstole" it from you.
d. The 4th owner of a gift gets to keep it and the gift is considered "œout of play" and cannot be "œstolen" again.
e. All "œin play" gifts must be visible and on display until they become an "œout of play" gift.
7. The gift exchange ends when the last wrapped gift is opened. Then the participant of the 1st number drawn will have the option to keep their gift or "œsteal" a gift. Once this decision has been made, the game is over.
