Saving Private Stylo (green)

AEFW can stress the sps out and can cause RTN to happen because of that . Any stress to sps will cause RTN & STN.

Ok.. although I tend to agree somewhat about corals becomming stressed out, THERE WILL BE SIGNS of AEFW in an infected coral. Such as bite marks of the AEFW and it gradually progressing. Another sign are eggs underneath the white parts of the skeleton, neither of which DrHarryLopez has.
If you look back to the issue at hand... he's been having issues with the CA Reactor. Thus Alk issues and is manually dosing to correct it while he finds a suitable pump to feed the reactor. This can and will cause corals to stress out and practically RTN overnight if left untreated or not recognized in time.

Noel, I have become very haphazard with adding coral with out dipping n I know harry said in passing he does not dip I hope it is not that either but I to had alk swings up to 12 then down to 10 n I did not loose coral

Are you positive about that (Not Dipping)??
Remember everyone's tank is not the same... alot of factors play into this. Size of your DT, number of coral colonies and the demand intake... etc.

You said" you had alk swings up to 12 then down to 10 n I did not loose coral"

My answer to that is none that was ever mentioned or made public.

Yeah true but I havesmall frags so I wold say they would go faster then a fully mature colony. I was told n heard he does not dip

Anthony, are you on drugs? I dip EVERYTHING! AND don't compare your Alk swings and little immature tank to mine.

I don't appreciate your comments.

I put these types of threads up to share knowledge and experience with others. If you don't have concrete facts on any subject matter please refrain from commenting.

A little imature tank ok harry yeah guess I am cause I heard other wise I do not like ur insults . Do worrie I wont comment any more

Hold on that was not called for at all . I was standing right there at reefbums when you clearly said i dont dip anything i put in my tank . You said this when ant said you should dip that before putting that in you tank .

Sorry guys, you all misunderstood, but I want to clearly state that I dip everything.

If I get AFEWs or Redbugs I wont be the first, but trust me I have my tank the way it is because I am careful.

Now, back to the topic..

I saved the mother colony by putting it in my lagoon tank and all the tissue that remain is still viable and alive. Hence if there were any AFEWs it would have continue to devour it.

BTW all my other corals are doing fine as I finally am in control of my chemistry.

Ant, I was not insulting your tank. Just stating that your 75 is only a few months old (even though you upgraded.)

Your corals may be affected differently than mine based on size (of the corals and water volume) and duration of the chemical imbalance.

To all-

Harry does dip his coral and then adds them into his holding tank. I would like to repose what I said in the above statment. I do understand Harry we both have verry different tank with you running the pellets and me carbon dosing, I thought that alk swin is a alk swing., but all in all I am sorry if I did attach your creditability. You are the president for a reason. I do ugre all of you to dip the coral and check once a week if you do see problems.

Again I would like to repose my above statments.

In conclusion sorry Harry.
