Well small update. i went over today to see the metal stand before it gets powder coated looks great. just needs another couple of cross braces and its ready.

my sump will go on the right hand side. on the left is where my top off water bin will go. The stand is made of 2 inch steel

Which one is better in your opinion Ken? Can you still do Line-X after powder coating?

Rob, very nice stand. Who build it for you? John came over my house today to pick up the Sfiligoi fixture and the ATI PM T-5 fixture to get the exact size for my light rack. I can't wait.....

Thanks Steve actually i was there this morning. I saw your light rack too. The look Huge. He is also making me a light rack to for my aquamedic

Ken it was sent in for powder coat today. I needed the stand already so i did not have time to research for the Line-x :(

I think it should be ok though. Its painted black right now plus the Powder coat it should hold up. Plus ill take care of it to avoid spills.

Yes you can Steve, just ask Brett (Putawaywet) he looked at my pictures and had SoCalCreations coat it after it was already powder coated. He also had all the wood on the inside of the stand coated. The thing looked awesome when it was done.

The stand info starts here:

uh oh, you got me thinking Ken :D. Wonder how much it will cost for my stand, light rack and 2 large pieceS of wood will cost with LINE X....

He called and asked me yesterday if i want to light up a foot field with my light rack . I think 4x400 and 16 T-5 from ATI PM will be enough for my 8x4 tank. I hope my light rack will be done in the next couple weeks.

Yeah john does nice work and i would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to make a metal stand or light rack. And since hes a reefer he knows what we need.

Well i hope i get a call today saying "Rob your stand is Ready"

:)

Rob, he is very good with timeliness. He is going to work on my prop system stand as soon as he gets done with your stand, light rack and Jose stuff :D

How big is your Prop System going to be? I plan on getting a Frag tank made by Advance acrylic in the next couple months. i was thinking of getting a 24x30x18 with a 150w Radium. And have him make me a stand for that one.
But i need to finish this one.

My prop system close to 300g :D. I have 1 60x36x20 (Former Jflip2002) display tank and 1 36x28x24 Made by John at advace Acrylic. The stand will be 96x36x36, it will support the two prop tank and i may put an 96x30x24 acrylic tank in the bottom to use as a fuge and remove DSB. But i run out of room in my garage to put too many tanks. I will wait till we settled in our new home then get more stuff in...

Tank looks good and is coming together nice, FYI the southdown turns your tank into a snow globe with a ton of flow. I am moving to a larger substrate now because of it. otherwise it's great stuff.

Good news :D, after a long conversation with my friend who own a body shop. He is willing to put a coat of lineX onto the stand and light rack for me without charging for labor :D. All i have to do is pay for the Material and take the stand apart :(.

I do agree on the comment about the sand. I do love the looks of it, but if there is any slight change in flow it blows everwhere. I will be switching mine too.

sorry guys i just got the internet working again tonight. but to late to take pics. but here is what ive done so far.

After the tank got loaded on the stand. i worked on the sump and made it Refugium/Return/Skimmer also i did the returns on the tank. all i need to do it do the drains from the tank to the sump. i could do that in a hr or so.

Well ill update this with pics tommow evening after work.

Rob, can't wait to see the pic :D. Have you get John start on your light rack yet? He just got done with mine. It looks amazing

yeah the light rack was delivered with the stand the same day. I hooked up my aquamedic on it already. Looks really nice. I will finish some stuff up tonight and i should be able to do a transfer of all the live stock. But i need to check the ammonia and nitrate levels first. Man it really sucked not having internet for a week. Plus i was on vacation so i could not even use it here at work. But now im back :D
