I saw him, but didnt buy him. I went home and kept thinking that he would be a great addition to my tank. I went back today and with some luck, he was still available.

Picking is a decent sign. I'd get some clams on the half shell. Also hopefully your QT it. That's the best luck I've heard of. Get them eating in a nice peacefully QT. Good luck

I will try clams tomorrow as well as some live brine. He is in a 30 gallon holding tank. That's how I introduce all new fish and then they get treated after they have started to eat. I have found putting a new fish in an established tank with lots of natural food and a couple small fish to guide them, has been very helpful to get picky fish to eat. This technique worked very well for a regal and 2 bandit angels. He won't be introduced to the DT for atleast 2 months, if at all

Sounds like your on your way. I've heard of too many people buying them and not realizing or researching the difficulty of keeping them. Btw nice collection of angels.

I have read that they are difficult, but I have had great success for the past year with new fish, so I thought I would give it a shot. The store had 2 of them but the other one was already starting to look weak, so I felt like this one had a much better chance of survival in my tank.

As for the collection of angels, thank you. I do love them, by far my favourite type of fish. Now I just need to get a larger tank so I can keep adding more and more of them. I am looking for larger tanks, but as I am in no rush, I am just waiting to find a good deal on one.

Nice is this the same store that had the clarions? Sounds like a nice store if they are bringing in that kind of quality.

I agree with you on the angels and hear you on the larger tank. I currently have a goldflake and regal.

Good luck with him.

Yes its the same store, right now they have 4 clarions, 1 bandit, and 1 tigerpyge. They constantly get in hard to find fish, and their prices are great.

Good luck with the angels, I love my regal, the way he slowly pops his head out of a cave and then sometimes retreats and sometimes explores, I find it very funny.

Hes still alive and looking healthy, however I still only see him eating pods. I havent seen him touch any prepared foods yet, hopefully soon

Good to hear that! All the best for you.. Mine is eating pellets, flakes and frozen. But is searching for pods all day long :)

Good luck with this fish! I'm very excited for my new pair to be coming in a couple of weeks from Kevin. He has done all of the hard work in the way of getting them to eat, and they are eating pellet and flake pretty well now along with an assortment of frozen foods.

One thing I have found with these fish in the first couple months is that many feedings will be needed. I was feeding 4x per day, but Kevin told me after the experience that closer to 8x per day for the first months is recommended. They are quite personable once used to their environment though. :)
