Say hello to my Flameback pair!

I've got one in a 40 breeder. That 14 gallon tank is much too small for even one dwarf angel. They need plenty of room to graze and swim. Mine is active all day long, swimming and picking at the rock work.

I'm considering getting one in my reef, but want to know my chances first.

How's everyones flamebacks behaving? I was either going to take a chance with a flameback or flame angel. I don't mind nipping as long as it's not killing.

iClown - Nice pair!

Yes, I'm aware that a BC14 is too small for them. I'm moving at the end of this month which is why I have not set up a new tank for them yet. I'm really itching to set one up but then I would have to take it down again only in a few more days. Why didn't I wait to get them after I upgrade? Pairing and quarantining purposes :) (I feed 4-7 times a day to make up for the lack of rocks).

I only have a torch and they don't bug it. The torch (8 heads) is home to the male :) I've asked around on youtube if the flameback owners are having issues with their angels nipping and it seems some does and some don't. I think it just depends on the individual fish.

love them...but tank is too small....
one of my all-time favorites and I think an often overlooked fish...I currently have a bonded-pair and they are beautiful and busy little fish...

keep an eye on dd...they have been offering them often over the past 2 weeks...both individuals and bonded pairs...
I know they go for $80 for the singles on DD but how much do the bonded pairs go for? Never seen a bonded pair on DD.

Lord Blackadder, mine went at it for 2 weeks! There were times when I "almost" pulled the plug with the pairing process. Fortunately, there was a lucky turn of event that allowed the pairing to work out. But lucky you to be able to collect your own fish!

I got a bonded pair from them two weeks ago...I forget but think they were 180...there have been a few other pairs over the last 3 weeks or so along with the individuals...

So it took a while but my LFS finally got them in for me and a couple other people. They have allowed me first choice and said I can take two if I want. They got in 4 and they are all tiny. None are being held in the same tank but I really would love a pair of these. Is their a way to tell male from female or another way that I can get two of these too coexist together?
