To the best of my knowledge, no. Cows are ruminants, and produce methane as a byproduct of digestion. This is also why cows chew cud...it goes into the first stomach, the cow spits it up and chews it as cud, then swallows it and digests it in the second stomach. Just an interesting sidenote, cows (and ruminants in general) produce more methane pollution and contribute to the greenhouse gas problem more than cars and factories.
Interesting. Does this mean that farmers who use BST and thus need fewer cows to produce the same amount of milk, are actually helping to alleviate the global warming threat?
