Used my phone, so they aren't perfect, but if there's anything specific I missed I can take more.

Hey everyone I'm planning a sca build 50 pnp. I was wondering if anyone is running a sump other than the one provided from sca on the 50 pnp. I'm considering leaving there sump out and purchasing a different one. So if anyone with the above system has any info that would be great!

I personally don't see anything wrong with the sump for the 50, I could see wanting something else for a larger one of their tanks though. I think inside that stand it wont matter what sump you put in there its going to a tight fit with limited space. You could always cut the baffles out and customize it how you'd like to.

I myself just got the 50 PNP and am in the middle of refinishing the stand as its not to my liking. Id definitely recommend spending the extra 150 and getting the plywood stand over the MDF, it comes assembled and is 2" taller than the MDF as well.

Many of us dont use their sump. What exactly are you looking to be answered?

Im looking to see what models and brands specifically will fit in the 50 pnp setup. I would really like to run a vectra as a return pump and use the stock pump to provide water for a manifold that will supply a gfo carbon reactor and a cheto reactor that I'm going to make. If I could get a few extra inches of room in the stand also that would be great. But right now I was planning on adding a vertical sliding shelf attached to the outside of the stand that will slide out and I could mount my apex and other electronics to

Im in the middle making a cabinet for the outside of the stand myself. I like the idea of a slide out shelf. Id be curious to see this.

I'm looking at the 150g pnp with the cherry cabinet. They are on sale and look good. I would just plumb it better with pvc pipes and values.

does anyone here have the SCA 112 PNP? I'm considering that one to purchase soon. I would like to ask some questions about it but cant seem to find one using the search function. Thanks in advance.

Trigger Systems 26 should fit in the 50 cabinet I think... I have one sitting in a box still for my 75 I will be using "eventually". I just have to get around to actually WANTING to do the change some day.

The right side of the stand will be butt up against my entertainment center. So on that side on the outside of the stand I would add a vertical shelf that slides out and my electronic equipment would go to.
When not in use the shelf would sit attached to the outside of the stand but hidden by the entertainment center

So i got my 50gal today, i'm very excited, the stand looks ok. However, upon setting up the tank and putting it on the stand I noticed at leat 10 small tiny chips only on the front glass panel on top, the sides don't have it at all they are smooth throughout, now is that normal? Please let me know.

I personally like the sca sump, but if you are going to use another brand, make sure it can handle your water volume in case of a power outage or pump failure.

Not normal to have chips. But dont look detrimental.

So SCA says it's definitely not normal to have these chips after factory inspection. And they are offering me two options, 1) a discount on the order 2) they ship me a replacment tank.

What would u do?
