SCA 90 rimless...a mountain reef build.

thanks guys for the kinda words, all that life getting covered my dino just sucks not sure its looks better on TBS vs dry. haha was hoping I could avoid it. but its all part of the process.

I still plan on hanging the RB light from the ceiling when I pay my rent gonna ask the landlord if it 's OK.

on side notes
my tunze ATO pump sounds odd reminds me of the flaps airplane wings kinda of a high pitched wine almost. does this sound normal?

there is a pistal shrimp at least one in the tank but so glad its not to noisy as this tank is in my bed room does not keep me up at all! SO GLAD I was worried that it might even set up a holding 40br to but the rock in once I got it to sort through the hitchhikers witch I only sort of did..so good news there.

the Royal is accepting flak food after the 2nd day and is now out exploring the tank most of the time. such a beauty!

well I noticed a small patch of HA :((
need to finish my DIY ATS...and get it in the tank.

I think the extra day in shipping the TBS rock due to that big storm in Den. I got alot of die off on the rock as there is so much life on it. I am sure all this will clear up. my tank is moving along fast...

took a few days off and went to Moab UT, for some mnt. biking.
always nice to get south this time of year.
here a pic of one of the many views...

Is this a beautiful country or what.

tank update.
I am getting in a new Tunze AIO pump
the Hair Algae not spreading to fast. once I get my ATS up online I think it will bet that.

and the exciting news is I ordered A new controller that is coming to the market.
it will take about 3 to 4 weeks as its pretty much being custom built. I have high hopes for it. i'll do a full write up on it later.

the Royal is doing great eating well I feed it 2x a day and he seam happy. would like to get it some company but I am not gonna rush it.

I will tell you this its not apex, Reefkeeper, reef angel i will be using some of my RA gear though. the Tech is not new and some reefers do use it, bit it has all been DIY stuff until now. lets just say I am very excited to do a write up and review on this product.

in about 3 week I should have it!

in other tank news I am leaving for 5 days...tank will be on auto pilot with my roomie feeding 2 days a day. showed her how much to feed and asked not to over feed. so hopefully tank will be great.

By Apex I meant an entire aquarium controller. There are a couple nice ones people have built in the DIY section. I really like the one a guy built that is all touch screen!

Neptune really needs to step up their game and get more with the times. Touchscreens have been out for years now, yet we still have a controller that has physical buttons. Their equipment is getting old and dated, its been the same for years with only minimal changes to the actual programming(Fusion), and no changes to the actual hardware.

Have fun while your gone, and while it's always nerve racking leaving someone else to take care of your tank, at least its a roommate who should at the very least be able to feed the tank while your gone without killing its inhabitants.

well made it back from my Vegas trip for a friends Bday :)

my lighting cycle never came on :( oh well was ok to just use light coming in from the window it did seam to help with the bloom.

have yet to see the Royal G. but it only been a few min. so hopefully he comes out for some food!

I had the same thing happen to me one time. Ended up picking up a dropcam so I could inspect the situation and send over an emergency friend next time.

well my new controller with have an HD cam! so I can see live feed of the tank. :D

all is well in tank land today the Royal came out this am and ate, so I feed it a lil extra.

yup a full aquarium controller. you are right about apex not really upgrading its hardware. my controller will be more like a small computer than a tinny lil circuit board.
it will have a web based platform so one can get real time data. there just finishing up the final touches on there website and platform hopfully in a few weeks I 'll have a link to share.
