schooling fish

What is a good schooling fish for a 270g tank? I have ~325lbs of live rock, lps corals, a butterfly and a blenny, cleanup crew, etc. My wife doesn't like anthias, firefish, damsels (including chromis). I'm wondering if anybody has any suggestions other than yellow and sailfin tangs.

thanks
Ben

what about those tin foil things..LOL not sure what they are called...my LFS has about 8 of them in the 4K G shark tank..they look pretty sweet
about a 4-5" fish...bright yellow fins and tail the rest is a metallic silver..

Cromis or Anthias. I know a guy that has around 8 to 10 Anthias in a 380, and it is awesome to watch them move around together.

not a member of this forum but i think you are talking about lookdowns (chrome fish) they do school and are awesome looking but they will eat small fish and small crustaceans. four or five of them would be real nice in a large reef tank.

once i saw some Bangaii Cardinals schooling(or at least hanging out together)...there was about 5 of them

Heniocus!! I would if I had the tank and $$$. Steve Weast had a little herd of them and they looked sweet in the pictures!!!

cardinals are awesome in schools! in fact on sw fish right now there is a special for 1.99 a piece! It would be awesome to se a school of like 50 of those in a reef!

Threadfin Cards are one of my favorites. I'm going to try a school of firefish - just 4 or 5, hopefully they don't carpet surf. If so, I'll got to threadfins. They look great under bluer lights also.

At Caesars' Palace in VEgas they have a nice aquarium with a small school of the bar gobies. They look pretty good and school well + they are easy to keep. They like to surf though. It can be frustrating getting fish to school in a reef aquarium though IMHO (no predators :) .)

If those choices are not good, Heniochus Butterfly is what you want. There are two types.. you want the reef safe one.

I have three and they school!

Once again... I suggest a harem or two of some fairy wrasses :)
Awesome fish. Just make sure you have a lid because they love to carpet surf.
