Hi there
Here are two pictures of the automatic feeder
The outlet of the feeder goes right into the intake of hte return pump.
It consists of an Aquamedic peristaltic pump and a timer that can be set in 1 second intervals.
The food reservoir is the barrel of a 50 ml syringe with the plunger removed.
I am using a mix that is similar to the Dendro system. It consists of 1 small spoon each of UltraSeafan, UltraMinF, UltraClam and Ultralife, these powders are mixed with a few spoons of Ultramin S Amino Acid mix and one spoon of a multi vitamin Solution that is very common here in Germany (Multisanostol) plus 1 ml of UltraBooster. This food mix is sufficient for about 10 days. Let the mix sit in the fridge overnight to soak up the liquid and to form a stiff paste. Parallel to the food I prepare a jar with UltraPac, about 1 tablespoon of the powder to 1 cup of water, shake well and put in the fridge overnight. Next day both mixes are relatively stiff. Take about 1/3 of the food mix and add the desired amount of UltraPac, mix very (!) well and fill it into the syringe. The pure UltraPac slime is stable for a long time, the food mix should be used up whithin a week or two max.
While I was living in the US I could not get Multisanostol, so used that Children's vitamin Stuff from CVS instead, it's basically the same. The vitamin juice contains a lot of Vitamin C which is a very good antioxidant. This way I keep the food fresh for a few days while it sits in the syringe in the cabinet. One syringe lasts for about 3 to 4 days.
I hope that this explanation is sufficient, if not just ask for clarification
