SCMAS Field Trip Satruday June 10th, 2006

I'm looking forward to this tomorrow!

Hay, anyone have some leftover sand? I need a few pounds, the smaller the grain size the better. Maybe half a bag?

I don't need live sand, although more diversity is always welcome. I wouldn't want to rob your tank, though. I'm thinking enough to be roughly 300 cubic inches. That's about 15 pounds dry in something with a fine particle size.

Oh, sorry no dry sand. I've got about 1000 lbs of hawaiian beach sand in my 400. Nice fine sand full of life. So much so that last night while cleaning out my skimmer cup, I found a bunch of baby snails all inside my skimmer.

Thanks Josh.
I'll probably enter the parking lot through the driveway near the lower left hand corner of your pink square, off of Hueneme Rd.
I'll try and have some type of obvious SCMAS sign, maybe on top or side of my blue dodge grand caravan van.

Chris

PS NicoleC: I know Reefmeister has a small bucket of sand he was looking to get rid of. I plan on stopping by to check his tank this afternoon and I can grab it for you if you want. See you tommorow around 815am.

That would be great. I still have to pull his pump off my tank and install mine; I have just been procrastinating.

glad all could make it out and hope everyone enjoyed the outing and camraderie as much as I did! very cool to put a face to all the many oline RC personas.

Big thanks to Mary and Morgan for hosting a truly Tri-County,
Tri-MarineAquariumSociety event!
It was cool to hear about your humble beginnings to an unqualified success. I appreciated the thought and planning that went into the total system design and I admire and respect your entire apporoach to the hobby and industry.
Be sure and put in a good word on behalf of SCMAS/MASLAC/MASVC to the new owners of SeaCrop.

ReefHotSpot was quite an operation and very clean display quality setups. NicoleC (Fish Yenta) was even impressed by their ethics toward fish sales, so that says alot about them!
be sure and check them out at www.reefhotspot.com
mark off several of their items as sold to SCMAS/MASLAC/MASVC members until they get a chance to update their website!

Doh! batteries charging on the digicam! will post pics of my haul soon.

Thanks for putting this together.....my haul went from many bags to 4 as I had a debt to pay and WD scored some sweet fraggage.

Laverda YGPM on my sunglasses ;)

THanks again Morgan and Mary for the informative tour and for hosting the three clubs. It was interesting to see how your NSW system differs from the one at UCSB. Sorry to see you two move on but we wish you the best of luck. We look forward to working with the new owners once they start to owrk on the bussiness. let them know about the local clubs and that we will help where we can.

As for my take, I finally got my Female Wantanabie Angel, a BIG thanks to Mary for that. ;) Sorry no pic's yet as she is hiding in the rocks. But my male is keeping her company so things may be good in the near future. :D

Now if I can just find a Male Bellus Angel for my female, all will be set. :D

I also scored a couple of nice looking clams as well. :D
