SCMAS Information Worshop and Barbeque
Saturday, July 8, 2006 12:00 noon - 5:00 pm (or possible later)

Hi everyone,
I am hosting the SCMAS workshop this Saturday at my home in Garden Grove. You do not have to be a member to attend.
It is a VERY informal "get-together" and requires no reservation, sign-up, or anything of that nature. It is simply a chance to meet local hobbiests, eat, learn a few things about the club, eat, learn how to build a few things, and....oh, and did I mentions eat?
refreshments will be provided but beer will a BYOB thing
(the host likes Sam Adams, but don't tell anyone...shhhhh!)
The subjects "tentatively" covered that day will be:
1) Water Barrel Mixing System (we will actually build a few, so if you have a 55-gallon barrel, bring it along.)
2) Acrylic Scratch Removal Procedures (presented by Laverda)
3) Auto Topoff Systems (Reservoir vs Solenoid)
4) Plumbing basics and tricks (using "non-standard" parts)
5) Home-made Calcium Reactor (presented by Marc Trimble)
6) Reefmeister Power station (if time permits)
Though this is not officially a frag swap, you are more than welcome to bring corals frags, etc. to sell and/or trade that day.
There are plenty of electrical outlets available and I will have extra saltwater handy.
As mentioned earlier, burgers, hotdogs, chips, sodas, etc. will be provided, so come hungry and ready chow down. (Thank you NicoleC for volunteering the food and grill duties)
If Anyone else wishes to volunteer to present a "subject of interest" that day, please contact me via PM so we can coordinate plans. We all appreciate the participation.
SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE! :reading:
Hope to see everyone there!
